When Alerus receives multiple email addresses for a participant, will the participant get multiple emails?
No, the participant will only receive one email. We will use the personal email provided by the participant when available. If we do not have a personal email from the participant, then we will use the personal email provided by the employer. If no personal email, we will use the company email address.
Of note, we will include all email address types in the reports readily available on our website. You can retrieve these reports for use in communicating with plan participants and will be able to easily select which email address type to use when emailing your own communication.
